BLACKPINK’s Rosé shares an emotional Paramore cover

On Tuesday (July 13), BLACKPINK’s Rosé appeared on South Korean variety show Sea of Hope. During the programme, the K-pop star performed an acoustic cover of “The Only Exception” by Paramore.

Rosé performed the emotional song at the TV show’s intimate outdoor beach stage in front of a small crowd. The Korean-Australian singer sat on the ground playing acoustic guitar, accompanied by one other guitar player and a keyboardist.

Last month, Rosé covered John Mayer’s “Slow Dancing In A Burning Room” on the show, which Mayer said was “gorgeous” on Twitter after the performance went viral.

In March, Rosé released her first solo album, R, which sold over half a million copies in the month since its release – making Rosé the first South Korean female soloist to do so in 19 years. The album features singles “Gone” and “On the Ground”.

Otherwise, BLACKPINK is releasing its five-year anniversary film – BLACKPINK THE MOVIE – in August, which will feature exclusive interviews and re-edited concert footage of the K-pop group. The film will be one part of the band’s new “4+1 Project” which celebrates five years since their Square One debut in 2016. Details of the remaining four parts of the “4+1 Project” are yet to be confirmed.
