Shakira Writes Special Message for Royal Who Goes ‘Crazy’ for Her Song
Shakira wrote a special message for Princess Charlotte after Prince William revealed his daughter loves the song “Waka Waka.”
William, the Duke of Cambridge, told an Apple Fitness+ podcast how his children argue over what music to play in the morning.
One song that currently gets Princess Charlotte, 6, dancing around the kitchen in her ballet costume, he said, was Shakira’s hit which was originally recorded for the 2010 South Africa soccer World Cup.
Shakira responded with a special message for the young royal on Twitter: “I’m so pleased you like my music Princess Charlotte!”
The duke told the one-off Prince William: Time To Walk podcast: “Most mornings there’s a mᴀssive fight between Charlotte and George as to what song is played in the morning.
“And I have to, now, basically prioritise that one day someone does this one, and another day it’s someone else’s turn.

“So George gets his go, then Charlotte gets her go. Such is the clamor for the music.”
He added: “One of the songs that the children are loving at the moment is Shakira, ‘Waka Waka’.
“There’s a lot of hip movements going along. There’s a lot of dressing up.”
Princess Charlotte has ballet lessons and William said she likes to wear her outfit at home too.
He said: “Charlotte, particularly, is running around the kitchen in her dresses and ballet stuff and everything.
“She goes completely crazy with Louis following her around trying to do the same thing.
“It’s a really happy moment where the children just enjoy dancing, messing around, and, and singing.”
Prince William and Kate Middleton’s official Twitter account responded to Shakira’s message with a ballet emoji and a heart.
The duke also described in the podcast how Princess Diana would sing Tina Turner’s The Best while driving him and Prince Harry back to boarding school after the holidays.
William said: “When I was younger, Harry and I, we were at boarding school.
“And my mother used to play all sorts of songs to while away the anxiety of going back to school.
